Call for Nominations on Board of Directors of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE)
The Nominations Committee of APAIE calls for nominations on Board of Directors.
According to By-Laws on Elections, the Steering Committee of the Board of Directors will sit as the Nominations Committee.
Nomination Procedure
1.
The Nomination Committee will issue call for nominations for the Board of Directors to the general membership at least 60 days prior to the General Meeting. (Note: According to the APAIE Charter, Article V, 1.a., the President and two Vice Presidents [are] elected by members of the Board of Directors.)

There shall be three ex-officio BOD members. These include:
A.
Vice President for Conference Planning, to be appointed by the host institution of the subsequent year¡¯s conference and approved by Board of Directors, for a term of one year.
B.
1 BOD member position, appointed by the host institution of the APAIE Secretariat and approved by Board of Directors.
C.
Immediate past president of APAIE.
2.
Nominations may occur this way: 1) self-nomination and 2) a second party nominations by current members of APAIE and is not of the same institution as the nominee.
3.
The nomination must be accompanied by a written endorsement by an appropriate senior administrator of the nominee¡¯s home institution.
NOTE: A nominee must be nominated by two different members of the APAIE. Self nomination is acceptable with a seconded nomination by another member.
Election Procedure
1.
Upon APAIE member¡¯s check-in at the registration desk at the Conference, the general members will be asked to cast their votes on a slate where all the nominees are grouped as one entity, and not as an individual candidate. The voting will end by 12:00 p.m. on March 28, 2008.
2.
The current members of the Board of Directors will cast their votes on the new President and two Vice Presidents of the Board of Directors on March 26, 2008 prior to start of the main Conference.
3.
The new Board of Directors along with the new President and two Vice Presidents of the Board of Directors will be announced at the General meeting on March 28, 2008.
The required documents are as follows:

Nomination Form for Nominee of the current membership.
¤ý
Two Nomination Forms for two supporters from different institutions.
¤ý
One Confirmation form from an appropriate senior administrator from the nominee¡¯s home institution.

The Nominee¡¯s CV with a photo.
¡Ø
You may use your own form of confirmation that must show that the nomination has been endorsed in writing to support the participation at Board meetings.

The nominator who supports the nominee can send the nomination form for nominator directly to Mr. Albert Wonsuk CHOI OR can send it to the nominee and he or she can collect the nomination form from the supporters and send it to the Secretariat.
All nominations must be received by Mr. Albert Wonsuk CHOI, the Executive Director of the Secretariat, by fax or mail.
